Orchard Community Care was founded in 2015 by a team of social care professionals in the Sligo area to provide services to individuals with Intellectual Disability and Autism.

Today Orchard Community Care operates across numerous locations and is rapidly expanding to other parts of the country.

We provide residential and day services to both children and adults with medium to profound disability including those with life limiting conditions. Our multidisciplinary team includes social care workers, nurses and healthcare assistants who are supported by a range of other professionals including psychologists, behavioural therapists, occupational therapists and speech and language therapists.

Our entire team is focused on ensuring we provide the best standard of care and support to ensure our service users achieve a life that is as independent as possible. We actively include the families of those we care for in the planning of services as we appreciate the trust they place in us in caring for their loved ones.

We were absolutely delighted to have Ciaran, one of the young adults we support, officially open our Respite House in Boyle, Curlew Garden, yesterday. 🏡

This special event was attended by individuals that we support, their families, staff members and colleagues from the HSE. Despite the rain, it was a fantastic day that really highlighted the positive impact that our respite service has had in supporting those who avail of it and their family. Curlew Gardens is a respite service for adults which supports 15 individuals and families.

We were honoured to hear from family members about their positive experiences of Curlew Gardens and the joy that their loved one had access to the supports provided by Orchard Community Care. The amazing staff team received such fantastic praise and feedback from all. 💕

We were delighted to hear the praise Edel Quinn, Head of Service Disability, HSE CH01 and her colleagues had for Orchard Community Care as an organisation and commended the facilities and staff team of Curlew Gardens, outlining that she could see from ‘the way some of the adults walked in today, it was a home away from home’.

Natalya Jackson, Group CEO spoke of our core values, noting alignment between Advocacy and the families present who advocated so powerfully on behalf of their family members to ensure they had a respite service close to their home. Natalya also thanked Minister Rabbitte who ensured funding for Respite services was made available.

Thank you to all who made the opening and running of our respite house a reality and we look forward to continuing to build brighter futures. ✨

🎉 Exciting News! Were Changing Our Name! 🎉

Were thrilled to share some exciting news with you today. After careful consideration and planning, weve decided to embark on a new chapter in our companys journey by changing our name.

As the leading provider of integrated care services for children, young people and adults, Orchard Care Group brings together three leading brands in Irish social care, Orchard Fostering, Gateway Community Care and Gateway Residential Care.

As we continue to grow and expand our services across the country, we feel it is important to reflect the high levels of wrap around care and supports we offer through our fostering, disability, and mainstream residential services by adopting the same name across our services also.

We’re proud to announce that from today, we will be Orchard Community Care and Orchard Residential Care as we say goodbye to our previous names, Gateway Community Care and Gateway Residential Care. In the coming weeks, youll start to see our new names reflected across all our platforms, including our website, social media channels, and marketing materials.

We look forward to continuing our work in building brighter futures. ❤
