Some of the people we support have complex medical needs in addition to their disability needs and we provide care for this group in specialist medical houses.
The houses are staffed by fully qualified nurses with expertise in disability and palliative care assisted by a dedicated group of health care assistants. Our expert staff can cater for those with specific requirements such as extensive medication regimes, supported feeding, additional mobility challenges and visual and auditory impairment.
The houses are fully equipped to meet the needs of those we support and are supported by an extensive multidisciplinary team who provide onsite therapy.
We are also very proud to provide a specialist community based house for those with acquired brain injuries. This house was developed as a result of the Wasted Lives Report which details those being cared for in aged care nursing homes who are under the age of 65. The development of our house allowed a number of individuals to leave nursing home care and live in a more spacious and suitable home that allows them to engage in community activities.
